LEADERSHIP & EDUCATIONAL CONGRESS

Welcome to the Great Lakes District Baptist Leadership & Educational Congress. We are so glad you have taken the time to visit this webpage. President Yarber and I, along with the entire Congress staff, invite you to join us at the 2023 Leadership and Educational Congress. We are entering our 70th year and what an exciting time it is. We are working diligently to present an expanded hybrid session filled with new and relevant workshops for this current time. There also will be classes for our Certificate of Progress Program (C.O.P.P.) students. We are planning to host classes on-site as well as online. Our goal is to provide rich and engaging experiences that will encourage a closer walk with the Lord and strengthen our fellowship with one another.

Workshop Incubator

A new initiative was launched in January of 2022 called the Workshop Incubator. Pastors, ministers, C.O.P.P. graduates and laypersons with the permission of their pastor, will have an opportunity to prepare for a teaching role in the Congress beginning with their very own workshop session. This unique program will walk you through the steps of preparing for a class including course development, lesson planning, syllabus creation, and evaluation. Every step of the process will be guided so you will know exactly what to do and how to do it. If you have a love for teaching and you are interested in working in the Congress, this is a great way to become involved.
