Pastoral Openings

First Trinity Missionary Baptist Church is prayerfully seeking a full-time Pastor and spiritual leader who has been called by God and guided by the biblical principles set forth in 1 Timothy 3:1-7 and Titus 1:5-9. The Pastor shall have spiritual oversight of the church to lead, preach, teach, train, be a resource, counsel, and guide for God’s people. The church seeks a Pastor who possesses the same love that Christ showed in preaching and teaching the word of God.

 

Qualifications:

• Five years of Pastoral Experience.

• Licensed and ordained as a Baptist minister who demonstratesauthentic understanding of 

   Baptist Doctrine and Theology.  

• Must be an effective communicator with the ability to teach and preach practical lessons 

  and sermons. 

• Must have strong interpersonal skills in written as well as oral communication 

• Demonstrated ability to work effectively with a congregation across all ages and genders.

• Must have the minimal requirement of Clinical Pastoral Experience (CPE) or similar 

  certifications in pastoral counseling.

• Effective leadership ability in developing programs designated to integrate the participation                                      

  of children, youth, young adults, and seniors.

• Provide direction and oversight to the financial and administrative business of the church. 

•  Experience in emphasizing spiritual development through the Ministry of Christian Education. 

• Appreciation for and understanding of technology, including social media and virtual ministry   

  operations. 

 

Duties:

• To lead and oversee the spiritual well-being of the church. 

• The Pastor will preside over worship services, funeral services, weddings, and baby

 dedications.  

• The Pastor will administer the Church Ordinances: The Lord's Supper and Baptism. 

• To provide Christian counseling commensurate with the education, professional training, and

  credentials he has attained. 

• To care for the spiritual and physical well-being of the members and the community. 

• The Pastor will be responsible for visiting persons who are hospitalized, confined to home or,

  extended care facility as well as delegating these responsibilities to the Deacons and /or church

  leaders as appropriate.

• To provide administrative leadership to effectively guide the church in the attainment of its mission and vision. 

• To work closely with the Deacons in their training, service, and building of the church

 membership.  

• To supervise the church staff members as appropriate and provide for staff training and development. 

• To act as a moderator of church business meetings, as deemed necessary. 

• To serve as an ex-officio member of all ministers and committees. 

• To motivate, equip, nurture, and inspire the people of God through example, preaching and teaching God's Word, and providing spiritual advice and counsel. 

• The Pastor will serve as Lead Evangelist, leading congregational initiatives to share the Gospel

of Jesus Christ 

• To dedicate time for personal reading, study, meditation, and research. 

• To be committed to professional growth, education, and training with the goal of being a

  Perpetual learner of God's word and church Administration. 

• To be involved in our District, State Convention, and National Baptist Convention.

• Letter of interest 

• Current resume that includes a summary of relevant ministry, professional, and educational

  experiences.

• Doctrinal Statement on Baptist Faith

• Copy of Ministerial License and Certificate of Ordination.

• Copy of degrees of educational training/or classes taken.

• Copies of unofficial transcripts (official transcript(s) will be required upon hire) 

• Submit 2 recent sermons and 1 recent Sunday School or Bible Class teaching session, 

  website link or mailed USB drive are acceptable.

• Four letters of recommendation (2 clergy, and 1 personal, 1 layperson).
